Dr. Marie-Hélène Dumur
Dr. Marie-Hélène Dumur Description
Dr. Marie-Hélène Dumur was only three years old when she went for her first pony ride. Since then, she has been surrounded by horses, dogs, cats, birds, rabbits and hens just to name a few. Her passion for animals has never ceased to grow, as well as her passion for life sciences. It was, of course, natural for her to pursue university studies in veterinary medicine. During her studies, she travelled every summer and worked abroad on internships. She has worked in equine medicine in a hospital in Dublin in Ireland, and a clinic for small animals in Tahiti, in French Polynesia. After obtaining her diploma in veterinary medicine, she carried on advanced training in veterinary practice for small animals during a one-year internship at HVRS (Hôpital vétérinaire Rive-Sud).
Three years ago, she moved back to Quebec City where she works as a veterinarian at the Clinique de Neufchâtel while pursuing advanced training, more specifically in ultrasonography – which is an extension of her passion for photography that occupies an important part of her free time. By the way, she will soon travel to New-Zealand for six months. There, she will give way to her passion and photograph still intact natural environments. The animal world and nature are part of Dr. Dumur’s DNA. She will return from her trip with an even greater wealth of knowledge on the fauna and flora of our planet. Many new discoveries await this young globe-trotter. We can’t wait to see her pictures and listen to her travel stories when she returns to the clinic. We wish her to pursue her passion and a wonderful trip abroad!
